Blink

Hi !

In his international bestselling book, "Blink," Malcolm

Gladwell ... super genius... talked about that pivotal moment

we all get when you just KNOW the truth.

It's a feeling you get in your gut. The feeling informs your

'knowing.'

But yet, most people don't listen to that feeling. They ignore it,

doubt it, push it away and suppress it.

Why?

Because the brain gets in the way. Reason and over-analyzing

and excuses tell you the feeling is wrong, it's just a feeling.

Gladwell told the story of an art curator who was deciding to

buy a very expensive statue, supposedly centuries old. All the

mucky-mucks around him at The Getty Museum told the curator

to jump at the opportunity and snatch it up...before it was too late

and another museum outbid The Getty to buy it. It was a 'steal' at

the multimillion dollar asking price, they all said.

But despite all the pressure from his 'art expert' peers to buy the

statute, he wouldn't cave. He didn't waver from what he 'knew'

about this statue.

Was his 'knowing' based on facts? No.

Was it based on compiled data? No.

Was it based on a 'tip' from a colleague? No.

It was something greater. Something unexplainable.  It was

something deep down inside of him that nagged at him, and 'told'

him the statue was a fake. No rhyme or reason, simply a feeling

that wouldn't let go.

After months of getting badgered by his fellow art experts,

analyzing the statue, and putting the statue under rigorous

'authenticity tests,' the verdict came back...

The curator was right. The statue was a brilliant 'fake.'

And buying the statue would've cost The Getty millions of dollars.

Here's the cool part. Everyone gets the same feeling that the

curator felt.

The difference is most people ignore the feeling. They dismiss it.

Doubt it. Mistrust it. And when this happens, you're off track.

But that gut feeling - that 'blink' - is your guide.
